Requirements
You must have a Colander account.
Even though Colander Companion is validated and signed by Mozilla,
it’s not publicly listed in the addons Mozilla extension store.
Unfortunately, Firefox Mobile doesn’t automatically install trusted .xpi
extensions
as the desktop version does.
That said, it’s possible to enable this feature on your mobile browser.

Unlock Firefox Mobile .xpi side load
- In Firefox Mobile, open the menu and scroll to Settings
- Scroll to About Firefox
- Tap five times the Firefox’s logo
This will unlock the Secret Settings in your main Settings menu.

Download Colander Companion web extension
With Firefox, browse the Colander Companion home page and click Latest in the Download & Install section.

The downloaded .xpi
file is store in your mobile/tablet file system.
- Open Firefox Mobile menu and scroll to
Settings
- Scroll to
Install extension from file
entry - Browse your device file system to find
colander-companion-firefox.xpi
file, then confirm

The browser will prompt you to confirm .xpi
installation:
- Check this option if you plan to collect web content as private browsing
- Confirm installation

Open Colander Companion settings page
- In Firefox Mobile, open the menu and scroll to Extensions
- Tap on Extensions Manager
- Choose Colander Companion extension
- Open Settings in extension options

Configure Colander Companion
In the Colander Companion settings:
- Fill in the previous mentioned API url (find it in your Colander profile)
- Fill in your dedicated API key (find it in your Colander profile)
- Click on the Save
Your Colander Companion is ready and you can collect web contents.
